As the final days of August settle over North Texas and the summer sky begins to soften toward autumn, another Full Moon rises—and the grounds of Maven's Moon once again come alive.

On Saturday, August 29, we invite you to step away from the ordinary and spend an evening beneath the Sturgeon Full Moon surrounded by firelight, faeries, Celtic folk music, art, Tarot, ritual, and community.

For six years, Maven's Moon Full Moon Gatherings have brought people together beneath the night sky. Some come for the ceremony. Some come for the music. Some come to explore their spiritual path. Others simply come because they want to spend an evening somewhere that feels a little different from everywhere else.

You don't need to practice witchcraft. You don't need to follow a particular spiritual tradition. You don't even need to know what a Full Moon ceremony is.

You only need to be curious.

Come as you are.

🐟 The Ancient Meaning of the Sturgeon Full Moon

The Sturgeon Moon takes its traditional name from the giant lake sturgeon that were historically abundant and more easily caught during late summer in the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain regions.

And these are extraordinary creatures.

Sturgeon are ancient fish whose lineage stretches back more than 100 million years. They have survived enormous changes to the world around them, making the sturgeon a remarkable symbol of endurance, resilience, patience, and ancient wisdom.

That gives this Full Moon a particularly meaningful spiritual message.

At the heart of the evening is one of Maven's Moon's most beloved traditions—our Full Moon Manifest & Release Ceremony.

As darkness settles across the grounds, we'll gather together around the fire pit and form a sacred circle.

We call in deities and energies of love and light, creating a space where everyone can participate at whatever level feels comfortable.

You'll be invited to write down two things:

What do you wish to manifest?

And...

What are you ready to release?

Maybe you're manifesting love.

A new opportunity.

Prosperity.

Healing.

Creativity.

Confidence.

A new direction.

Or perhaps you're finally ready to release an old fear, resentment, habit, relationship, expectation, or version of yourself that has completed its purpose.

Your words are yours.

You don't have to share them with anyone.

When the time comes, those intentions become part of our ceremony around the fire.

Fire has been at the center of human gatherings for thousands of years.

We gather around it for warmth.

For storytelling.

For ceremony.

The sound of Celtic folk music seems almost naturally at home outdoors. It carries echoes of old stories, distant landscapes, taverns, celebrations, wandering musicians, ancient traditions, and communities gathered together at the end of the day.

Find a comfortable place near the fire.

Explore the vendors.

Or simply sit beneath the summer sky and listen.

For a little while, White Settlement may feel very far away indeed.

As twilight settles over the grounds and the lights begin to glow, Maven's Moon takes on a personality of its own.

And somewhere between the mundane and the magical, imagination begins to wake up.

Perhaps you'll spot something unusual near the faery garden.

Perhaps you'll leave a tiny offering.
