A Place for Their Memory: Maven’s Moon’s 7th Annual Día de los Muertos Ofrenda

There are people we remember through the smallest things: a familiar song, a favorite recipe, a saying we catch ourselves repeating. Their presence remains woven into our lives, carried in stories, habits, and the love we continue to feel.

This season, Maven’s Moon invites you to view and participate in our 7th Annual Día de los Muertos Ofrenda, a community altar honoring loved ones who have passed.

From now through November 1, you are welcome to bring a photograph, a written remembrance, or a meaningful offering to add to the ofrenda. Whether you have joined us in previous years or are discovering this tradition for the first time, there is a place for your memories here.

An Offering of Remembrance

Día de los Muertos, traditionally observed November 1 and 2, is a Mexican celebration honoring departed loved ones. The ofrenda is a central expression of that remembrance, bringing together photographs, flowers, favorite foods, and personal objects that recall the lives being celebrated.

At Maven’s Moon, we honor the Mexican cultural roots of this tradition as we welcome our community to participate with care and respect.

Behind every photograph is a life filled with stories. A grandmother who always made room at her table. A friend whose laughter was unmistakable. A parent, partner, sibling, or beloved companion whose memory still shapes our days.

Our community ofrenda offers a place to acknowledge those lives together.

Help Us Create This Year’s Ofrenda

Your contribution can be simple and personal:

  • A copy of a photograph of someone you wish to honor.

  • Their name and a few words about their life.

  • A letter, poem, or favorite memory.

  • Flowers or a small, meaningful offering.

Bring your contribution to Maven’s Moon anytime between now and November 1, and speak with us about adding it to the altar.

You are also welcome simply to come and view the ofrenda. Take a quiet moment, remember someone dear to you, or share a story with us. You do not need to bring an object to take part.

Join Us November 3 for Friendsgiving Fellowship

We will also gather for Maven’s Moon’s Día de los Muertos Friendsgiving Fellowship on Tuesday, November 3, from 6–9 p.m.

This evening offers time to celebrate our loved ones and honor family and friends in the spirit realm. Open altar space will be available for you to light a candle, say a prayer, or simply hold space in remembrance.

You are welcome to bring a side dish or snack to share as we enjoy an evening of fellowship and connection.

The November 3 event is free; love donations are appreciated.

As our seventh annual ofrenda takes shape, each photograph and offering adds another story to this shared remembrance. We invite you to bring yours.

Contribute to the ofrenda through November 1, and join us for fellowship on November 3.
