Drum Circles and Earthbound Ecstasy: Feel the Rhythm at Maven’s Moon

There’s something timeless about a drumbeat.

It bypasses the brain and goes straight to the bones. It doesn’t ask you to understand it—it invites you to remember. Before there were words, there were drums. Before there were cities, there were circles. Before there were sermons, there were songs of skin on skin, rhythm pulsing in sync with the heartbeat of the Earth.

This Saturday, July 19th evening, from 7:00 to 10:00pm, Maven’s Moon invites you to join us for one of the most beloved and soul-stirring events in our community: a drum circle led by the incomparable Ron Dyer, held in our enchanted outdoor garden under the stars. And here’s the best part—you don’t need to know how to play a drum.

You don’t even need to bring one.

Drum circles aren’t about skill or performance. They’re about presence. About vibration. About the collective heartbeat of a group of souls all saying, in their own way: “I’m here. I’m alive. I belong.”

The Magick of the Circle

At its core, a drum circle is sacred space. It is ritual disguised as rhythm. It is community woven through cadence and creativity. Each person who joins brings their own energy, whether they’re keeping a beat, shaking a rattle, clapping their hands, dancing barefoot in the grass, or simply sitting in stillness with a smile.

You don’t need a title. You don’t need a reason. You are the reason.

As the sun begins to set and the garden glows with candlelight, the beat begins—steady, slow, earthy. Ron Dyer, a master of rhythm and longtime spiritual drummer, will guide the circle gently, inviting the energy to rise organically. He doesn’t direct it like a conductor; he coaxes it like a fire tender feeding embers.

Soon, hands join the rhythm. Then feet. Then laughter. Someone starts to chant. Someone else dances. Others just breathe and feel. The music swells, not because it’s been rehearsed, but because it belongs.

This is no performance. It’s communion.

A Place of Healing and Joy

Drum circles have long been used for healing in cultures around the world. The repetitive, rhythmic vibrations have been shown to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and lift the mood. But beyond the science, there’s a kind of spiritual alchemy that happens when people gather in circle and beat as one.

Walls fall away. Masks drop. And for a few precious hours, the outside world fades, replaced by this pulsing moment of sacred joy.

The garden at Maven’s Moon is the perfect container for this experience. Surrounded by plants, crystals, and the gentle glow of fairy lights, the space feels alive with magick. The energy of the land itself joins the rhythm, and it’s not unusual to feel the breeze move a little differently when the drumming begins—or to hear an owl lend its voice to the night.

Come As You Are

We mean this with every fiber of our faery-loving hearts: you are welcome exactly as you are.

No drum? No problem. No rhythm? That’s what Ron’s there for. No idea what to expect? Perfect.

Whether you’re a seasoned drummer, a curious observer, or someone who just wants to let go and sway in the moonlight, you’ll find a place in this circle. Come solo, bring a friend, bring a rattle, bring a blanket. Bring your full self.

And if you happen to have a drum or percussion instrument, by all means, bring it! But don’t let that stop you if you don’t.

This is not a concert. This is a portal.
